От 2002г до днес АВО е единственият акредитиран център в България за провеждане на квалификационни курсове за международна преподавателска правоспособност CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) и DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) - Сертификат и диплома на Университета Кеймбридж. Както всички дипломи и сертификати на Университета Кеймбридж, и тези два документа са международно признати и дават право да се преподава английски език в целия свят.

I completed DELTA Module 2 in Sofia in 2010. It was by far the most rewarding teacher training experience I had ever received. The course tutors were very knowledgeable and professional. I learnt more in the six weeks of DELTA that I had in twenty years of teaching. After completing DELTA, I trained at AVO-Bell once again to become a CELTA tutor, again under excellent guidance and supervision. I can sincerely recommend taking CELTA or DELTA in Sofia to anyone who wishes to further develop their teaching skills.

- Introduce yourself, please. Where are you currently working?
Following the economic downturn, which resulted in the collapse of my property business here in Bulgaria, I became a native teacher of English at 36 years old. It is an extremely rewarding profession, which has provided me with many memorable moments and introduced me to numerous people, from all walks of life. I am currently teaching online, alongside furthering my own studies, and have worked at both private and state schools. since completing my CELTA training at AVO-Bell, Sofia.
- What was special about your CELTA experience (from a professional and human point of view)? What will you remember from your course experience in Sofia? Was it all worth the effort? In what way did it help your further development?
The CELTA experience at AVO-Bell was something I will remember for the rest of my life. Due to a combination of the excellent teacher trainers, whose varied approach and teaching methods were truly invaluable, alongside the support staff and Directors at the school, who were all extremely helpful, I can honestly say that AVO-Bell was a perfect place to have undertaken this intensive course. From a professional perspective the CELTA training really helped to develop the basic teaching skills I had going into the course, and made me a much more effective language teacher by the end of it. It gave me a greater level of confidence in terms of being able to create and deliver my own lesson plans, as well as a detailed knowledge of classroom management and the different approaches used to teach skills, grammar and vocabulary. Furthermore I made numerous professional contacts, and friends, which I am still in contact with today. It was certainly very hard work, but well worth the effort.
- Will you recommend our course to friends or colleagues? What piece of advice would you give them?
I have already recommended the course at AVO-Bell, Sofia, to friends, and would do so again to anybody wishing to start, or develop, a career in English Language teaching. I would advise them to be prepared to dedicate as much of their time as physically possible to the course, and the homework, as it really is an intensive, alongside rewarding, experience. I am hoping to go back to the same institute to undertake my DELTA within the coming year. I can’t think of a better place to further improve my skills as a teacher.

I did CELTA quite spontaneously, but it turned out to be one of the best career choices I’ve made. Why CELTA? First, it is useful because you are taught the very essence of teaching and given loads of handy tips by experienced tutors, not to mention that it is internationally recognized.
